supergranulation [sypɛʀgʀanylɑsjɔ̃] n. f.
ÉTYM. Av. 1973 (in Encycl. Univ., art. Soleil); de super- (2.), et granulation.
Astron. Phénomène qui détermine au niveau de la photosphère solaire des formations (cellules de supergranulation ou supergranules) d'environ 40 000 km de diamètre, où dominent les mouvements horizontaux de la matière du centre vers les bords, et durant chacune quelques heures.
